My Jurassic monitor

It’s been a long time since I used this PC because I’ve gotten used to using a laptop. But now that I’ve considered becoming a VA, I had to set it up again. My 17’ CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitor had been acting up a long time ago but it still served its purpose.  However, now that it’s been years, it’s just ready to retire. It now shows a green screen that can’t be adjusted through color settings.  I got this monitor in 2001 and during that time, I’d say that it’s still considered one of the good stuffs.

But now that technology introduced the sleek LCDs and LEDs, CRTs are history.  Not only would you get more space on your desk, it saves you more power too.  Check out this site for energy efficiency tips on PC monitor usage. I have more reasons to switch to an LED than to settle with my Jurassic monitor. So I got out and searched for affordable but good LEDs that I can use. I was considering a cheap CD-R King LED but learned more unfavorable reviews than not. Instead, I bought an 18.5’ Samsung LED that fitted my budget and gave me peace of mind because it’s a branded item that I believe would last longer. Don’t get me wrong.  I like buying items in CD-R King. All I’m saying is it’s always better to research on an item before deciding to buy it. In this case, I’m glad I did.

How to use Dropbox

Let me tell you about the Dropbox application. It is an application that lets you have your files in one place online, share it with others and sync them with your other computers, mobile phone or other gadgets. It's interesting how one can have a file storage without worrying about backing up files when something goes wrong. And it's absolutely free!

In trying to make this tutorial, I had to scrutinize features of the Dropbox application to understand its functions. Making screenshots also let me see how it works step by step. Dropbox is very practical and user-friendly. Check out this tutorial to see how easy it is to use. Enjoy!

It's a possible mission!

I'm in the mood for positiveness that's why I decided to create this blog title. I know negativity is everywhere and so do countless blessings. It's always up to you which one you choose to you pick. I know I have to accomplish a lot since the seminar and it's been three days since I finished the downloadable version. I knew I can't sit in front of the laptop for three hours and more to finish everything without being disturbed during the day or get sleepy during the night. Just so you know, I had to put the files in my Ipod touch to take it anywhere I go so I could complete it. And since my daughter always plays games on it, I also put it in an Ipod Nano so I could just listen to it and browse the pdf slides later. You see, there's always something you can do for every circumstance that presents itself. The ability to learn new things can be done using a pool of resources but, Willingness to accomplish what you need to do is something only you can control. And for my next posts, I'll take these as my journey to learning new things and share them with you as I take one step at a time into completing my Mission Possible! Don't worry, this post will not self destruct in 5 seconds.
